Ed Walsh, Writer - Examiner. com
"Hula's is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful gay bars in the world because of its open-air spectacular view of Diamond Head and Kapio’lani Park."

Shannon McDonough, Host of Bump! - Bump! TV (Logo Network)
"So happy to have been at Hula's! The Best bar in Honolulu!"

Honolulu Magazine - Hula's Won BEST BARS
"A gay landmark celebrating its 35th anniversary, Hula's Bar & Lei Stand has hosted famous guests like Elton John and Dolly Parton.  This gay bar has been a Waikiki mainstay since 1974. By day,... practice yoga or take in the view of Diamond Head while munching on a kālua pork quesadilla. By night, mingle with the friendly crowd and get down on the dance floor. On our last visit, the well-sculpted bartenders were serving up cold drinks shirtless. Daily, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., 134 Kapahulu Blvd., second floor of the Waikiki Grand Hotel. 923-0669, hulas.com."  This is our 2nd BEST BARS Award.

Katie Q. (Canada/Australia), "Great Bar with Great People"- via Trip Advisor
"We went to Hula's for a bachelorette party (of 26) and it was amazing! The staff were amazing helping us plan and were even more lovely on the day. They took care of absolutely everything that we needed and we had such a great night! Definitely recommended!"

SHE KNOWS (CityGuide)
Don't let the double entendre in the name of Hula's Bar & Lei Stand fool you . . . actually, yes, let it! At the anchor of Honolulu's gay scene, picture yourself with a cosmo in one hand and a girlfriend in the other, while googling--in the pre-1999 sense of the word--the gogo dancer boys and the well-groomed bartenders.   As you toss your hair along with the queens in the tropical breeze, you'll see panoramic Diamond Head Crater and Queen's Surf Beach, from the 65-foot expanse of open windows.  Come to Hula's with your girlfriends and forget about (straight) men! Prepare to be friendly with the locals and partake drag shows, DJ events, pool tournaments, and weekly Saturday booze cruises, all sans the usual man drama.  Park on the street or at the Honolulu Zoo lot.

GayCities. com – Hula’s Won #1 Best Local Bar
"Enjoy cocktails with an amazing view of Queen's Surf beach.  This second floor bar offers one of the best views of any gay bar in the country. Sip your mai-tai, watch the go-go boys and soak up the Hawaiian beauty. Enter through the hotel lobby and take the elevator to the 2nd floor."

GayTravelAbout .com
"Honolulu's definitive gay and lesbian dance club.  Apart from the extremely popular bar overlooking Kapio’lani Park and Honolulu Zoo, there's a good-size dance floor spinning the latest club hits, a restaurant (open Thursday through Monday nights)* serving quite tasty pub fare..., a pool table, and about as friendly a staff as you'll find at a gay club anywhere."  NOTE:  *Now Hula's Cafe is open everyday from 5pm - 9:30pm!

10BEST. COM - Customer Review
"Hula's is the greatest gay bar in Waikiki. Every time I think about Hawaii, I think about Hula's. There's someone there for everyone. Go in the afternoons, when you can sit on the lanai and watch the people in the park and enjoy the warm breeze. You'll have a blast."

MetroMix Honolulu
"Yeah, the rainbow flag and the go-go boys scream that this is a gay bar. But Hula’s is both straight-friendly and female-friendly. The mostly-male, mostly-shirtless (and gorgeous) waiters welcome everyone, even when the place is packed, as it often is. They even want tourists, so they set up Internet stations so visitors can check email while they sip fruity cocktails and listen to house music. Locals, tourists, gays and straights give Hula’s high marks for the nightly drink specials, hot music and people-watching from the second-floor."
